Obituary of Jerry W. Jones

Jerry W. Jones passed away at St. Clare's Hospital in Denville, NJ on February 3, 2016 at the age of 77.
Born in Dayton, OH he attended Mad River schools and Kiser High School in Dayton where he was a lifetime Founder Member. He was a very proud military veteran, serving in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War era and was stationed at Thule Air Base in Greenland. He then lived in Yonkers, NY before moving to Denville, NJ in 1981.
Jerry worked in International Factoring for the Bank of New York in New York City for many years before retiring in 1999. He was a lifetime member of the Denville American Legion Post #390, a member of the Denville Senior Citizens Shoot the Breeze Club as well as a member of the MacDowell Club of Mt. Lakes. He was very proud of his Irish heritage, and was an avid Nascar fan. He also enjoyed going on the casino trips with Denville Senior Citizens.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Roseanne M. Jones (Konieczny / Kunny) of Denville, NJ. He is also survived by his Sister-in-law and her husband Margaret and Robert Esposito, his Sister-in-law Joanne Kunny, and his Brother-in- laws Anthony and Gerard Kunny as well as many Nieces, Nephews, Grand Nieces and Grand Nephews. He was predeceased by his parents William D. Jones and Jessie E. (Hoover) Jones, and his siblings Evelyn, Frances and Jack.
Funeral services will begin at 9am on Thursday February 11, 2016, at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834, and then going to Sacred Heart Church in Dover for a 10AM Liturgy of Christian Mass. Interment will follow at Denville Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-6 PM.
