I worked with Betty Lee at Prudential, and I was proud to call her my friend. Her ability to work well with everyone enabled her to defuse many a tense situation, and she could positively influence people at all levels within the organization, always with a strong sense of ethics, an acerbic wit and as a champion for the underdog.
I thought of Betty Lee as I walked along the streets and beaches of her beloved Cape Cod last September, never imagining she had already left us. Hopefully, she knows I was there and had her in my heart.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Betty Lee. I was at Mogisca for two years when Betty Lee was director. I was a counselor-in-training and later business manager at Camp Mogisca for Karen. A fellow counselor and friend since our camping days in the 60s at Mogisca, Sue Salsberg, notified me. A great deal of my personal success in life is due to Girl Scouting and leadership and management examples like Betty Lee (my grandmother, mother and sister and I were leaders), and the people I met and the friends that I made. Down that long and rocky road,
There's a place I long to be......
My first camp experience was at Mogisca under the direction of Betty Lee. She was impressive and a model of scouting leadership. When I became a leader and chaired "Ambernest Weekends" for Denville Girl Scouts, she was extremely gracious in her guidance. Prayers for you and your family, Betty Lee.

I worked for Betty Lee at Camp Mogisca in the late 70's. She inspired me to hone my burgeoning leadership skills and helped me figure out my path. I have just celebrated my 38th anniversary with Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida. I have directed resident camps and many other operations. There is a little of Beety Lee's "style" in everything I do - always attempting to be appropriately tough, caring, inspirational and fair - and not necessarily in that order. Thank you Betty Lee.
