Obituary of Ralph L. Ford

Ralph L. Ford passed away at Merry Heart Nursing Home in Boonton, NJ on June 8, 2015.
He was 93 years old.
Born in Rockaway he moved to Denville in 1926 and attended Main St. School in Denville and Rockaway High School, graduating in 1939 as Senior Class President. He was a resident of Denville for 47 years before moving to Morris Plains, NJ in 1973.
Ralph served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the 36th Infantry Division, fighting in the southern France invasion and thru Germany and Austria before receiving the Bronze Star.
He later worked as a sales representative for Garden State Wine & Spirits for 40 years retiring in 1993.
Ralph was a lifetime member of the Denville American Legion Post 390 & the Denville VFW post 2519. He was past president & member of the Denville Rotary Club for 55 years where he had perfect attendance. Throughout his career as a Rotarian he received many Paul Harris Fellow, founded the Sunrise Rotary Club in 2002, initiated Santa Land in 1961, received Rotary Foundation Major Donor & Rotary Benefactor awards and he also served on the Denville Recreation Committee for 5 years where he became Chairman.
He was predeceased by his son Glenn Ford in 2011.
Ralph is survived by his wife of over 40 years Marilyn (McDonnell) Ford as well as his daughter Amy and her husband Kevin Biener of Port Charlotte, FL and his two grandsons Mitchell & Kevin Biener.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday June 16, 2015, at 9:30AM at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834. Interment will follow at Denville Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday June 15, from 2-4 & 7-9PM.
