We met up with Barbara and Caren at a block party in Ocean Grove last September. It was a cold rainy day and Barb threw on a rain slicker made out if a trash bag and stood in the rain listening to the band. She had a ball! We got to spend time with her that day. We are blessed and lucky to have been inspired by her wit and her decision to embrace the moment. Rest easy, friend, will toast your life today.

Dear Caren, So sorry to hear about Barbara. I send my condolences for you and all her family. I am sure this will be a hard transition for you, but at least she is no longer suffering and is in better hands. I'm sorry I couldn't make it but I just got out of the hospital today, myself. Love, Lillian

A young student, working as a word clerk at St. Joes and packing into life all of the fun and joy possible; this is our first memory of the funny, brilliant, complex character, called Barbara Conrad. What a joy to watch her grow and find love and more importantly, learn to love as beautifully as she did. Caren and Erin were her teachers in this. Barbara fully embraced life and could find humor in any situation. She heard her own drummer and marched in her own fashion and brought joy wherever that drumbeat took her
