Estelle Marie Montgomery
Estelle M Montgomery (Fogarty), 86 passed away peacefully from this life surrounded by her loved ones on March 22nd.
Born and raised in Brooklyn NY, Estelle was one of three children. She married Matthew James Montgomery in May of 1951 in Brooklyn NY. They settled into Denville with their young family in 1964.
Estelle had a lifelong devotion of faith and a passion for giving of herself to others. Volunteering brought her a tremendous amount of joy. Over her 50 years in Denville she supported and volunteered often; most notably with St. Mary RC Church, St Clare's Hospital Auxiliary (The Barn's) and she was an original steering committee member and volunteer of the St Clare's Harvest Festival.
In addition to her charity work and other career choices, her most notable position in life was the Matriarch of The Montgomery Clan. She was an amazing daughter, sister, niece, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. Her passion for life, love and her devotion to family and friends was evident daily to all of those lucky enough to be touched by this smiling angel.
She leaves an immeasurable imprint of life to her beloved husband of 63 years Matthew, her adoring sons and daughter Matthew (Catherine), Thomas, Patrick (Kathleen), Daniel and Jeanne Montgomery Smith (Neil): her cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren Britney, Katy, Courtney, Maggie, Megan (William), Matthew J, Matthew P. Rosemary, Daniel, Tyler, Hunter and Leah; her brother John and sister in law Carol and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. She is predeceased by her sister Catherine and most recently her dearly loved son Robert.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 28th at 10am at St Mary's Church, Denville. Interment to follow at Denville Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, March 27th from 4-8 at the Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Ave, Denville. In honor of Estelle's favorite color, kindly consider a splash of green.
