God bless you Fr Bill. You were a great teacher but more than that you were a great friend, someone you could confide in. The advise you gave me is as helpful now as it was back in my high school years. I am blessed that I had the pleasure of knowing you. You will be missed but your spirit will always live on.

I remember visiting my aunt who lived there. I am from california and my aunt was suffering from terminal cancer. I brought her back to the room and she said, you forgot something. I asked what and she said we didn't have a scotch. I said. you want to go out for a drink? She said yes. The only person i could find was father Bill and he said I won't tell if you don't. It is a wonderful memory I have of my aunt. TN)ZU

Te SSM's of Denville NJ were incredibly blessed when Father Bill became our convent Chaplain. He led us prayerfully and lovingly all these years. Faithfully he graced our lives with a deep spirituality. Each encounter with Father Bill, whether it was a daily mass or a funeral of one of our sisters, was one of reverent attention. His good liturgical practice created a sense of the sacred in our chapel. We will miss this devoted friend as we continue the journey of our own lives. May the goodness he radiated continue to illumine our own path to God's presence.

Father Bill, my most beloved friend and guiding light helped to keep me focus and down to earth when I stressed out. He kept my spirit alive and vibrant.
We shared, so many wonderful cultural events together, from bringing in the New Year at Lincoln Center, New Years day concerts to seeing the new exhibits at the MET; catching a Broadway show or a concert. But I must admit, one of my fondest memories, is when we would go to Vespers at St Thomas Church, NYC, to relax and reflect listening to the beautiful choir, and magnificent sounds of the church Organ.
Whenever are telephone conversation was over, or we headed back to Jersey, he would always say to me "Caio Bello" Well Father Bill, "Caio Bello" to you, for you were a beautiful creation of God. Caio Bello, Caio Amigo-dear friend

Father Bill,
In the all the too short time I knew you, my life was enriched, you always made me laugh, and always had great stories. I know you were always there when I was in the hospital, to take time to make sure I had all I needed, and I know you had other things to do, but never rushed, you had a beautiful gift to make a person feel that your life right then was the most important thing for you. You were sincere, caring, thoughtful, very funny and a truly great listener, you are now feasting at the table of the Lord, I have no doubt, and may all these candles that are being lit, shine up to you, to let you know how much you are going to be missed, and how much you were loved. Rest in Peace in Parisise, your final home, which you so richly deserve--Anne

The passing of Father Bill tears at the heart strings, but also leaves some music. I worked with Father Bill in what I fondly would call, "The Grace Period" of my life. In later discussions with him, which were all too brief, I think he agreed that what we shared were "The good old days" caring for the Sisters. The Lord works in mysterious ways, and in the case of Father Bill I believe in some fun ways. Father Bill may have made the angels nervous, but ultimately pleased I'm sure.
Godspeed to this colorful character, dear man, and faithful servant.

Give him a seat among the crowned martyrs,
move among the patriarchs and prophets,
and follow Christ in the company of the apostles.
Let him contemplate the splendor of God among the
angels and archangels; let him rejoice within the gleaming walks of paradise; let him have knowledge of the divine mysteries and find the brightness of God among the cherubim and seraphim.
Let him wash his robes together with those who wash
their garments in the fountain of lights;
Receive, Lord, the soul of your servant,
Fr. William J. Freeswick
who comes home to you.
Clothe him with a heavenly garment and
wash him in the holy fountain of everlasting life,
so that he may be glad with the glad,
wise with the wise.
and knocking, find the gates of
heavenly Jerusalem open to him.
Let him see God face to face in that company,
and savor the ineffable strains of celestial music.
In Jesus’ name we pray.
AMEN

Bill,
Whithout my saying so you know you were like a father to me. My heart has a hole in it and my tears can not stop.
We knew each other for twenty one years and without your love and respect for my disability's I know I would not have survived. I will alway's remember you refering to me as a person that was challendged not disabled I will take that and you it as your inspiration for me. I know you are whatching over me I can feel your present.
When ever I needed, you were there either on the phone or at your door. I cherish every dinner we shared @ Case Bella, Hounan Taste, Micheal Angelos, It was more importrant to me more then the food.
Your advise, wisdom, and friendship I loved with all my heart. Im crying Bill but know you are in a better place.
The day I took you to the hospital I was not aware that God was calling you. I though I was going to bring you home. I thank you for the
talks we shared in the hospital just you and I in such a short period of time but the little that was said it filled the twenty one years that we spent as friends.
Rest in peace Bill, until we meet again.
Love George,
CHOW! BELLA
