Thanks for everything, Bob.
Now the world will be a little less kind, and a bit more quiet (but not in a good way).
We'll miss you, my friend!

Dad, I find it fitting to light your candle on September 11, a day this country will never forget, along with a man I will never forget. Mom and your love for each other and your seven children fill me with inspiration and hope. Both of you taught us strong lessons between right and wrong, fairness, and equality. During our youth you both led from example with strong religious spirituality and moral character. Even with the many challenges with raising seven children, we still had fun and you both sacrificed your own desires for those of your children. Dad, there is a part of you in all of your children and a empty place in my heart for you with your passing. That empty space is filled knowing you are again with Mom in Heaven. I know you are there with her after seeing your angelic smiling face after your death. That day all the pain of you sickness and the stresses you endured in the last years of your life were taken away. I hope that the pain and stress your children had in these years, in trying to stay close to you dad, will be taken away with prayer. I pray that the love you had for Rosemary lift her spirit for help and healing through forgiveness and she recognize the problems caused by her illness. I can speak for myself, that the overwhelming love and affection for you by so many friends and neighbors showed me how much you meant to so many. I felt great knowing you had such good friends in your life. Love you Dad and miss you, if I am even half the man you were I will see you again. Ken

Dad: Where to start all the memories of good times and you and Jesus carrying me through the horrific trials in my life. You are my rock and you and mom taught me to rely on Jesus and never give up. However in the end you quit-- and we both knew the cancer had beaten you! Now you live life anew and we are all left wondering why? Now only you and God know the answers. I have no answers but I am praying they will come. Dad, Mom, Aunt Barbara, Rosemary, Robbie, Barbara, Kathleen, Kenny, Trish and Michael let us all keep his spirit and love alive in our hearts. Let us cherish his life by cherishing each other and living a Godly, Christian Life. What we are is God's gift to us, what we become is our gift to God. I will always love you Dad and I will try to live up to the high example that you set. Life and love is a blink in the eye.
Love In Jesus' name,
Diane

Dad, I will always remember the sacrifices you and Mom made for us, your seven children. A prominent example was during the Summer of 1973, when you both "loaded up" the rest of the family and made numerous trips to that little school on the Hudson to show your total support during a very stressful time in my life. From my recollection those were day trips during 7 or 8 straight weekends that summer. Staying with the theme of trips, neither I nor Jacque and Ben (nor Cindy, I am sure) will ever forget your several visits to St. Charles, MO as part of your "Western swing" cross-country excursions during the late 80s and early 90s. We all love you and will miss you very much. Love, Robert (or from times gone by, Robbie)

I have so many memories of my fun-loving, warm, caring, (sometimes goofy) Uncle Bob. Mostly from childhood when he and my Aunt Margie would open their home and heart to us so 11 (or sometimes more) cousins and friends could enjoy each other and have fun. After that we had many years of correspondence, mostly at Christmas; I always looked forward to the card and long, newsy letter I would receive from Bob and Rosemary.
Rosemary, Rob, Barbara, Kathleen, Kenny, Diane, Patricia and Michael:
My heart goes out to each of you for your loss. My prayers are with Uncle Bob and with all of you.
Love,
Your Cousin,
Jan

I am deeply sad at Bob's passing - my children Casey and Sean loved "Mr. Bob" from church. He was such an inspiration for both of them. For Casey, he helped her become a confident Altar Server. It was quite funny to see tall Mr. Bob holding up her hand during the Lord's Prayer! And with Sean - well, he always paid attention when Mr. Bob was the lector. His voice and conviction for the scriptures was truly inspiring. I will never forget his reading of the Passion this past Easter. He will truly be missed and I pray for his family to be at peace - you are all so blessed to have had this wonderful man in your life! We are praying for all of you!

I will remember my dad as a man who enjoyed engaging other people in conversation often as we all know with his deep booming voice. As I drove in to the town on Denville on Friday night Sept 4, and passed by the shops and diners he spent the last 20+ years, it struck me that with as friendly as he was, he would be missed. He will also be missed by his children and grandchildren who loved him dearly and I will remember him for his long hugs and his teasing manner. Dad I love you and am happy for you that you have found your true and final resting place, but I will miss your phone calls and long hugs. I hope you gave mom a big hug from each one of her children and grandchildren and we will see you again.
