George J. Hubschman passed away at Forrest Manor Nursing Home in Hope, NJ on May 3, 2009
He was 77 years old.
Born in Englewood, he had lived for many years in Alpine before moving to Green Pond, NJ 17 years ago.
George served as a Sgt. in the US Army during the Korean War and was awarded 2 Purple Heart Medals and 2 bronze service stars. He then worked as a self employed carpenter / builder in Bergen county for 50 years. He was a 32nd Degree Mason in Lyndhurst, and a member of the Lions Club in Tenafly.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Joyce L. (Doerner) Hubschman of Green Pond, NJ. His loving children Dana Riotto of Blairstown, NJ, Lisa LaCorte & her husband Sal of San Diego, CA, George L. Hubschman III & his wife Maryanne of Cresskill, NJ, Tom Hubschman of CA, and Michael Hubschman & his wife Janis of Demarest, NJ also survive him as well as his Grandchildren, Christopher, Jake, Caroline, Sarah, Alison, Jack, Michael, and Erik. His Brother Richard A. Hubschman of Englewood Cliffs, NJ and several Nieces & Nephews also survive him.
Funeral services will be held on May 7, 2009 at 10AM at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ. Friends may visit on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9PM.
