Lou was one of the first persons we met when we moved to Denville in 1985. Lou was a member of the Denville Little League Board and was in charge of Pee Wee (8 year old) sign ups. Knowing 3 young boys moved into the neighborhood, Lou stopped by our house to see if our children were interested in playing baseball. Lou, thanks a million as my boys all played Denville Little League and all became baseball junkies. As we navigated through the baseball program, I enjoyed many days and evenings with Lou at Gardner Field. I hope that all the members of the Daddea family remember and cherish all the special times you shared with you Lou and know that his spirit will live forever within you.
God bless.

Thank you to all those that already have and will be sharing their memories and condolences. Your support and kind words about my dad have given me and my family a feeling of peace and comfort.
The day after he died, I went for a jog down to Gardner Field in Denville, one of my dad's favorite places to be in the spring and summer months. He would go to the field to watch just about any game, but certainly most loved watching his own kids and then, years later, his grandkids playing on those same fields.
My father fulfilled his role as dad very well over the years. I was his "buddy" or his "pal" and together we would go to field to watch a game, he would take me to work and let me sell tickets to the passengers getting on the train. He took me to many hot dog stands over the years and we watched many games at home while enjoying his favorite snack - popcorn.
More recent memories include a nice retrospective chat about his life and a conversation about how he wasn't afraid to die. In his final hours, surrounded by his kids, he wasn't sad at all and was happy being his goofy self such as making gestures about pulling the plug and then throwing his head back to fake his death. He told us not to cry, but instead to clap.
My kids loved him as their "Poppy" or one of his silly names "kookadootz" - (correct spelling is unknown).
I am genuinely happy for my dad because for the first time in many years, he can breathe deep again. With some tears and many smiles, we are celebrating the memory of his life on earth as his spirit is reunited with that of my mom's and all others that have gone before us.
Rest in peace Dad! You were great here, now it is time for you to enjoy the rest of the Universe.
