Obituary of William C. Covert

William C. Covert Sr., 73, died on Monday August 18, 2008 at St. Clares Hospital in Denville.
Bill was born in Rockaway and moved to Denville in 1941.
He had served in the US Air Force during the Korean War.
Following the war he went to work for the Denville Police Department where he worked until retiring in 1983. He was a life member of the Denville PBA Local #142.
Bill was an outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt. He was a life member of the N. R. A., as well as the Round Valley Trout Fisherman's Assoc. He had also served as a game warden for the NJ State Fish and Game.
He was also a life member of the Denville American Legion Post #390, and the Morris Plains V. F. W. Post # 3401.
Bill is survived by his wife of 44 years Kathy E. Thone Covert, as well as his children and their spouses, William C. Jr. and Mary Covert of Denville, Theresa M. Covert of Cedar Knolls, and Christine and Christopher Miller of Whippany, NJ.
He is also survived by his grandchildren Meghan, Shannon, Ryan, and Caitlin Covert and Erin Miller, and a sister Margaret Crouthers of Morris Plains.
His son Thomas George Covert died previously.
Funeral from the Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave. Denville, NJ www.normandean.com, on Saturday Aug. 23, 2008 at 10:30 AM for an 11:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's R. C. Church in Denville.
