Though we had not been in touch for many years, I have
many happy memories when we were young on Ferry Avenue in Newark- going to the city pool on hot summer days - what fun!! Later as teenagers we were off to the dances- even in a snowstorm to see the Vaughn Monroe Band.
Of course your wedding to Gerry was a great day and party!!! Very happy memories!!! God bless. Cousin Shirley

My most memorable thoughts at this time is when you came to the airport to say goodbye and you had to leave your gun in the admin office and you were afraid that you missed seeing me off. God Bless and big hug and kiss to Aunt Anna & Uncle Dixie. Love cousin Joan

Aunt Virgina there were many of times that both you and Uncle Jerry came running when there was a need for a shoulder to cry on or needed advise. I am so happy that my dad had a sister like you. Then on December 5,1985 I was so proud that you expected my invitation to presence me with my badge on completetion of the Police Academy. Who would think as I am coming to the end of my career that I would be a Detective just as you were and how proud this has made me to follow in you steps. There is only one thing that I wouldn't be able to do, that is to chase a "Perp" in "High Heels" as you used to do. Aunt Virginia you will surely be missed.

P.S. I almost forgot to thank you, Aunt Virginia, for bringing Rosemari into the world. She is by far my favorite cousin and a most loving soul. She took wonderful care of you to the very end. Be sure to send her kisses from above!
Love, Virginia

Hi Aunt V,
I was/am so proud to share your name! I remember how honored I was to get your hand-me-down leather monogramed briefcase - carried that thing to school for many years. I felt so important posing next to you and the mounted police officer during some Newark Fair. There I was, a geek in glasses and there you were, the star of the show! But you always made me feel special.
Thank you for all those wonderful Christmas Eves at your home, for letting me eventually graduate to a grownup chair (or was it the elephant stool?) at the spaghetti dinners and for giving such great hugs. Have fun keeping Grandma in line up there!
Love, your goddaughter, Virginia

How Aunt V would swoon when we'd rub her back as little kids! In my memories she will live on in heels, painting her long nails, wearing purple and several pins, saying "darling" and signing cards "Live, Love, Laugh" in that oh-so-recognizable handwriting. Then, of course, there's the story of how she was named for the state of Virginia (as Grandpa was traveling through from a boxing match) and how I would have been named after her even if I were a boy! She was spirited, bold, feminine, classy, strong, protective and loving. She will live on in my memories and in the stories I pass along to my girls. I will miss her. I am so sorry for your loss!

For my entire childhood, not a birthday or Christmas went by without a card or gift from Aunt Virginia. Be it spaghetti dinners at her house or barbecues in my Grandmother's backyard, Aunt Virginia will always remain a permanent fixture in my memories of youth. When she passed, a little piece of me passed with her. She'll be missed.

Hi Sis, Hope the boys aren't giving you a hard time up there! Give Jerry, Mom and Don a big hug for me. As I look through the pictures we have, you were always the classiest and best dressed one of the family. You always made Christmas special; something the kids will always remember. Miss you, Love and Prayers always, your sister Grace.

Aunt Virginia always had a way of making you and any occasion seem even more special. She was there for everything, but for me, it will always be the Birthdays that I remember her the most for. She always made you feel that your Birthday was the most important of all! It's a feeling that I will continue to carry for the rest of my life. I love you very much! (and kiss Grandma for me!)

One of my many memories of my mother is how caring she was to everyone. She would always be the first one there if anyone needed help. Love you Mom. Give Dad a big hug for me.
