Obituary of Rose Elias
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Rose Elias, who left us on November 25, 2024, at the age of 76. Born on February 10, 1948, in Newark, New Jersey, to Nicholas and Theresa DiNonno, Rosalie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, known for her boundless energy, creative spirit, and loving heart.
A woman of many talents, Rose had a passion for crafts that she shared with all those around her. She was skilled in floral arranging and crochet, creating beautiful pieces that brought joy to her family and friends. A great cook, Rose loved to gather loved ones around her table, preparing delicious meals and creating an atmosphere of warmth and laughter. She had a knack for decorating, always making her home a reflection of her vibrant personality, with a special touch that made everyone feel welcome.
Rose was also a social butterfly who loved nothing more than spending time with her family and friends. She treasured family trips to Long Beach Island and Wildwood, as well as her unforgettable cruises to Italy, Hawaii, and Aruba. Travel was one of her greatest joys, and she made sure to fill her life with adventure and cherished memories.
A proud grandmother, Rose showered her grandchildren with love and affection, spoiling them with kindness and attention. Her love for family was immeasurable, and she took great pride in celebrating life's milestones, often planning elaborate parties and gatherings to mark special occasions.
Rose's spirit and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, and cherished memories. And though we are saddened by her loss, we take comfort in knowing that she is reunited in Heaven with her brothers, Nicholas and Angelo DiNonno. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family; her husband of nearly 51 years, Donald Elias, her daughters, Vanessa Elias (Alan Garcia), Melissa Daken (Peter), Laura Mitchell (Franklin), her grandchildren, Ella & Aria, her sisters, Jean Cifelli and Theresa O’Keeffe, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
If you would like to continue Rose’s memory in your own way, please consider making a charitable contribution to the American Diabetes Association. Memorial donations can be made via inmemof.org.
Hours of public visitation are scheduled for 2 to 6 PM on Sunday, December 1st, at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Ave, Denville NJ 07834. A Funeral Mass will be held the following day, December 2nd, at 10 AM at St. Cecilia Church of Rockaway with a graveside service immediately following at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Please join us to celebrate the life of this wonderful woman, and please share a memory, leave a condolence, or light a candle to continue to let Rose’s light shine!
