Helen Irene Lindsay, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2024, in Denville, NJ. She had shared 78 years of love, laughter, and incredible memories with family and friends.

Born on May 4, 1946, Helen was raised in Ringoes, NJ, and lived a life rich with purpose and passion. Helen earned her Bachelor of Arts from Montclair State University and her Master of Social Work from Rutgers University. She dedicated her career to helping others as a licensed clinical social worker, running a private psychotherapy practice in New Jersey. Her commitment to her profession was matched only by her dedication to her family and friends.

Helen is survived by her only son, Ian Lindsay, and his wife, Sara Lindsay. She was a cherished grandmother to Piper and Teagan. Helen is also mourned by her sisters, Florence Szymanski and Marion Romanoski (married to Ed), and her brother, Julian Kotulich. Her family also includes many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends, including her lifelong friend Karen Beatty.

A feminist, democrat, and free spirit, Helen was a flower child of the 1960s who embraced the world with open arms. She had an insatiable love for travel, including visits to 98 countries, reveling in new adventures, cultures, and cuisines. Her zest for life extended to her passions for winter, skiing, and the beauty of snow.

All services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the World Central Kitchen, Doctors without Borders or the World Literacy Foundation in Helen's memory.

Helen will be deeply missed by all who knew her, remembered for her warmth, adventurous spirit, and the profound impact she made on those around her. Please leave a condolence here for her family to treasure forever.
