Obituary of Patricia G. Brockson
Patricia G. Brockson passed away peacefully with loving family by her side after a valiant battle with cancer on April 11, 2024 at Morristown Medical Center. She had shared 82 years of unconditional love and kindness, infectious smiles and laughter, and unforgettable memories with family and friends.
Born and raised in Zenith, West Virginia to the late Sidney and Polly Eggleston, Pat was one of four children to bless their household. In 1948, the Eggleston family of six moved to New Jersey, settling into Belleville. Pat graduated from Belleville High School, Class of 1959. She found her greatest calling in life when she became a Mom. Pat also thoroughly enjoyed her job at BASF in Florham Park as a Customer Service Manager, retiring after 28 years of hard work.
Pat broke the mold as a Mom and Grandma; she was loving, selfless, patient and kind. She did not get bothered by the sounds of children running around the house, making a mess, and having a blast – she actually encouraged it! She loved to host gatherings, inviting family and friends over for BBQ’s, family dinners, holidays, birthdays and random get-togethers, just because. Pat was the rare type of woman who never held a grudge and consistently saw only the good in people. Her family was always the first priority in her life, yet she would help a stranger on the street if needed. Even though Pat didn’t have a dog of her own, she always opened her heart and home to all of her grandpuppies because she knew how much her kids loved them. She truly was a Saint on Earth.
Endearingly nicknamed “Queen of QVC”, her family knew if they mentioned in passing something they might want, within days it would arrive on their doorstep. She looked forward to the annual trips to Myrtle Beach, SC and any opportunity to put her feet in the sand. If anyone needed a buddy for an adventure, Grandma was willing, ready, and able to join. Whether it was a road trip to another state for a week or a trip to the supermarket, she was there, ready to have some fun. She will be forever admired and treasured in our hearts and memories. She was a warrior, truly an inspiration and a blessing to all that love her. Although we are deeply saddened by her passing, we take comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her adored sons, Michael and Greg; her precious grandson, Michael, Jr.; her parents, Sidney and Polly; her brother, Gary; and her Aunt Trudy.
Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her loving children, Robert Brockson of Easton, PA, Scott Brockson of Boonton, Tricia Jones of Rockaway, and Stacy Brockson of Pine Brook; her cherished grandchildren, Amanda and Christopher Jones, Tyler Brockson and Lizzy Brockson; her caring siblings, Nancy Napolitano and David Eggleston and many dear nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Public Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 17th from 4 - 8 pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville. Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, April 18th at 11 am at Boonton United Methodist Church, 626 Lathrop Avenue, Boonton, NJ. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park, 77 Deforest Avenue, East Hanover, NJ. Please leave a condolence, light a candle, and share your favorite memory of Pat here to continue to celebrate her life and let her light shine bright.
