We were neighbors for 10 years in Jefferson. We always laughed that we moved next door to a Mike and Kathy. We were a Mike and Kathy too. Mike was always a great neighbor. He and Kathy would open their home and you always felt welcomed. Sorry to hear of his passing. Sending our condolences to Kathy and his children. The Blazier Family

Some of my fondest memories were when I first started at the Sheriffs Dept. Working with the likes of E. Schaming, D. McDonald, D. Horutz, K. Palovitz & Mike Scanlon. It was a bit intimidating. I remember Mike's stories of Hercules and the challenges he faced. What I liked most was Mike's honesty & he would not pull any punches. He always told it like it was. Once I got to know him I realized he was a down to earth, tough but kind soul. I'll never forget the first time I had his venison stew. OMG! To this day it's the best I've ever had. Rest in peace my friend, rest in peace.

I am so sorry to see that Mike has passed, my sincere condolences to his family and loved ones. ((( ♥️ ))) Such a beautifully written piece and so heartwarming to read about Mike’s full, loving life and meaningful accomplishments. All of my memories of Mike as classmates long ago are just like I see in this photograph ~ big smile, bright light, fun to be around and a kind heart. Godspeed Mike ♥️

So very sorry to hear about Mike's passing. He was one of our original Indian Lake crew, back in the late 1960s/early 1970s. He was one of the first guys to get a car, so he drove us all over the place. Very fond memories of our times at the Lake. You will be missed, Mike.
