Obituary of Betty Ann Gallagher

It is with heavy hearts that we must announce the passing of Betty Gallagher, a long-time Denville resident who passed away on January 5^th, 2024 after a brief illness at Excelcare at Dover. All services will be private.

Betty was born to Carmine and Mimi DiMieri in February of 1956. She was raised in Brooklyn alongside her two sisters. Later on in life, Betty settled in Denville, New Jersey and worked as an assistant teacher at a daycare in town. Betty loved the town of Denville and loved her frequent walks through town where she would see friends and catch up. She was a devout catholic and held membership at St. Mary’s parish where she would attend services multiple times a week. Betty also had a group of friends at her Curves and Weight Watchers classes. Betty had a kind heart and a loving yet feisty personality that will never be forgotten.     

And though we are saddened by her passing, we take comfort in knowing that she is at peace, reunited with those who passed before her; her siblings, Thomas DiMieri, Jennie Iwasiuk, and Rose Marie DiMieri. It is now that we look to those she leaves behind to continue on her legacy of love. Betty is survived by her daughter, Lisa Kelly Gallagher and her fiancé Derrick, her sisters, Joanne Wright and Phyllis DiMieri, as well as a granddaughter on the way!
