Obituary of Charlene Shunk
On October 20, 2023, Charlene Shunk, 86 of Denville NJ passed away peacefully at the Troy Hills Center in Parsippany, New Jersey.
Charlene was born to Charles and Edith Spencer and was raised an only child. She graduated from Dover High School, then went on to work there as an administrative assistant until her retirement in 2009. Charlene enjoyed reading, attending bible study at Community Presbyterian Church in Chester, going to lunch with her friends and of course her favorite place, Denville Dairy for a little ice cream.
Though we are saddened by her passing, we take comfort in knowing that Charlene is at peace, reunited with those who passed before her; including her grandson, Ryan McConnell. We look now to those she leaves behind to carry on her memory of kindness. She is survived by her children, Steven Shunk and his wife Mary, Debbie Titus and her husband Tim, Karen McConnell, her grandchildren, Megan Shunk, Tyler Shunk, and many friends and neighbors who will remember her fondly.
If you would like to contribute to Charlene’s memory in your own way, please consider making a charitable contribution to Autism Speaks; an organization that provides funding for Autism research and resources. Memorial Donations can be made via http://act.autismspeaks.org/goto/MemoryofRyanMcConnell.
Hours of public visitation for Mrs. Shunk are scheduled for Saturday, October 28th, from 3 to 7 PM. All are welcome to come and celebrate the life of this wonderful woman! Please leave a condolence, light a candle, and share your favorite memory of Charlene to continue to celebrate her special life.
