Obituary of Suzann Mary Giugliano
It is with great sadness that we must announce the passing of Suzann Giugliano, a long-
time Denville resident who joined her husband, Frank, in heaven on September 14th, 2023.
Suzann was born to Carmella and Michael Castoro on November 1st, 1942. She was
raised in Brooklyn, New York, and at the age of 27 Suzann married the love of her life, Francis
Giugliano, better known as Frank. They moved to Denville in 1972 with their 2 children Frank
and Lori. She cared for her children endlessly and supported them in any venture they chose.
As their children grew, so did Suzann’s love for them. She was blessed with many
grandchildren and always made it a point to come to their games and school events, and make
sure they had a good meal afterwards. Suzan was a wonderful cook and loved to make food for
others. Her family describes her as being unselfish; she always looked out for and cared for
others. She was a fair and loving woman who could make anyone feel like they were part of the family.
In her free time, one of Suzann’s favorite activities was taking frequent trips to the
casino to play her favorite slot machines. Suzann took almost monthly trips to Mt. Airy Lodge to
bet a few bucks and have a few drinks. Suzann also enjoyed playing cards with a group of her
friends, playing Bingo over at St. Mary’s, spending time with her grandchildren, and enjoying a
fresh Nathan’s Hot Dog from Coney Island.
And though we are saddened by her passing, we take comfort in knowing that Suzann is
reunited in paradise with her love, Frank. We now look to those she leaves behind to carry on
her memory of care and compassion. Her survivors include her son, Frank Giugliano and his
wife, Amy, her daughter, Lori Maines and her partner, Dean, her grandchildren, Bailey Maines,
Michael Maines, Shea Giugliano, Michael McEwen, Mitchell McEwen, and a wealth of friends
and neighbors that will remember her fondly.
Hours of public visitation for Suzann are scheduled for Thursday, September 21st, from
5-7 PM at Norman Dean Home for Services. A Funeral service is scheduled for Friday,
September 22nd, at 10:30 AM at Norman Dean Home for Services, with an interment service at
Denville Cemetery immediately after. All are welcome to come and celebrate the life of this
wonderful woman. Please leave a condolence, your favorite memory of Suzann, or light a
candle so that her light may continue to shine!
