Dear Lisa, Amy and John,
Your Mom is a special Lady. She has a beautiful smile, which reflected her inner beauty. Thank God she is now with your Dad. His care for her showed we young husbands the commitment of Marriage. They fullfiled their wedding vows, as promised. Yours were great Parents.
Mr Prideaux, Im sorry you lost your friends on Earth. Indian Ladder has always been a spiritual place for the Cougle Family. So much so we placed Dad's ashes above the lower falls. We swim there most Fathers Day.
May you all feel Gods grace in each day and may your mother Rest in Peace. Glenn

Joanie's husband Don, his brother Bob (Bibble) and I grew up together almost from birth. Our mothers would walk us to the town square in our strollers. As we got older we went to the Maple Avenue school together. Donnie a year ahead of me and Bobby a year behind me. We spent hours together at the YMCA and played sand lot baseball on the corner of Maple Avenue and DeHart Street. When we lost Bob at an early age, Don and I remained close friends but we didn;'t see each other very often because we both married and had our own families to raise.
Don and Joan bought their Indian Spring Trail home from my aunt Helen and the next thing we knew we were building a new kitchen together with Joanie right there to support us. Don and I both loved to hunt at Indian Ladder during deer season, but we also loved to take our families up to the Dingman's Ferry camp for long weekends of hiking, fun, cold water swims, wonderful camp meals and snipe hunts. My wife Dolores and Joanie were always good sports and put up with our shenanigans.
As time went on I retired and moved to Florida but came back to New Jersey each month on business. When I did there was always a bed for me to sleep in and wonderful meal on the table thanks to Joan.
I learned that Don and Joan were going to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at the Indian Lake Club House. This was an event I was not going to miss. Without telling them Linda (Dolores had passed away and I had remarried) and I hopped on a plane and presented ourselves at the clubhouse much to their surprise.
So when Don and Joan told me they were going to take a cruise to Alaska I asked them if they would consider extending their vacation to include a stay in our cabin in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California. They agreed and added two weeks to their trip. Don and Joan and Linda and I not only cruised Alaska but motored through Northern California, Oregon, Washington, and Vancouver Island in Canada.
When Ray passed away it was John who brought Joan to Ray's service to pay her respect to him and my family. I may not be with you in person on September 18th, but you can bet I will be with you all in spirit. You can't spend a lifetime with two people like your parents without developing a deep emotional respect for them both.
These are the wonderful times we can all remember during this time of mourning Joanie's passing. To Amie, Lisa and John you were all blessed with the good fortune to have Don and Joan as your parents. That is something no one person or no event can take from you. Remember all of those good times together and may God hold you all in the palm of his hands forever. Amen

I love hearing all the stories about those days. I know that it was my Dad's dream to go to Alaska before he died and I'm so glad that he spent that time with you and Linda. I know that they both enjoyed your company and friendship very much. Thanks so much for the kind words and memories. They mean a lot.

I was so sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. She and your Dad were great neighbors when we lived in Morristown on Ridgedale Avenue and then through my parents' lifelong friendship with them. They were both loving and caring and I still miss you Dad, and now your Mom. I visited her once in Boonton but she became upset, so I thought it best not to visit again, although that did make me sad to not see here again. You have my deepest condolences, Carol Munro

Saddened to hear of Joan's passing. She and "Uncle" Donnie were such a huge part of my family's life growing up. I know they are all together again hanging out with my mom and dad. Of course, my dad and Donnie are discussing the Jets.
