Bill knew his music! Bill and I used to go to Wendy’s in Denville to see the car shows in the restaurant parking lot. I remember one particular car show where they were giving away free food to anyone who could identify the song title, artist, and record label. Bill captured first, second, and third prize! Bill loved to eat, and if the food was free, so much the better. Bill not only loved to eat, he loved to talk. We used to spend hours eating and talking at local restaurants. For the most part, this behavior was okay with the local establishments. One exception was the Pizza Hut in Rockaway, which gave us a lifetime ban for loitering in their restaurant and abusing their “unlimited refills” policy. I'll miss my buddy! Dan Laverty
