Obituary of Danielle Lauren Fusco

Please share a memory of Danielle to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Danielle Fusco, a beautiful, smart, and compassionate young woman who was called away from this life much too soon. Her passing is a pain that will be felt by all who had the honor of knowing her.

Danielle was born May 30th, 1989 to Maureen and Raymond Fusco in Denville, New Jersey. Here she grew up and made many memories through Girl Scouts, recreational sports, and the Denville Volunteer Fire Department in her teenage years. After graduating from Morris Knolls High School, Danielle went on to continue her education at Caldwell College, receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She used the skills she found in this degree to assume many caretaking roles throughout her career as a social worker and activities coordinator for senior adults living at the Regency Grande Nursing Center in Dover, New Jersey. At the time of her passing, Danielle worked as a paraprofessional at Celebrate the Children, a school for children and young adults with autism and special needs, located in Denville. She was proud of her work and made a positive impact on many lives with her care and dedication. Her passion for helping and uplifting others is deeply appreciated and will be remembered forever by us all.

She loved singing to music of all kinds, shopping for designer clothes and purses, and getting Starbucks with her boyfriend, Dan. She loved going down the shore as long as her beach chair was covered by the umbrella and even sought shade in the Atlantic City casinos. Even at home, Danielle was never alone as she was surrounded by her furry friends who she considered part of the family. She was a self-proclaimed “Cat Lady”, and loved taking her dog Sarah for car rides around the block. Danielle had an infectious laugh that could bring a smile to anyone’s face, and bright, blue eyes that would shine even brighter when she laughed.

Danielle is remembered as a loving daughter to her mother and father (Maureen of Mine Hill, NJ and Raymond Fusco of Anderson, IN), sister to her siblings: Matthew Fusco (Jenny Frost), Alicia Henderson (Chris), Justin (Arielle Testa), and Jennifer (Chris Simmons), and aunt to her niece and nephews (Tyler, Nicholas, and Eliana Henderson). She is survived also by her close friends (Arthur Clarke and Dona Malson) and boyfriend (Dan Gilberti). Please keep her loved ones in your thoughts during this time.

Danielle was predeceased by her grandparents (George and Mary Abline, Ralph and Marjorie Fusco) and her sister Sabrina Renee Fusco who passed away in 1991 at the young age of 6. We take comfort in knowing that she is reunited with her grandparents and sister, catching up on all the missed memories and making new ones.

Throughout her life, Danielle faced many challenges and hardships that she worked every day to overcome. She faced this battle head-on with endless strength and vulnerability. She will forever be remembered as a fighter. In honor of Danielle’s perseverance, memorial donations can be made to The Center for Addiction Recovery Education & Success (CARES). Donations can be made via Inmemof.org. Please leave a condolence, light a candle, and share your favorite memory of Danielle here to continue to let her light shine.

A public visitation for Danielle will be held on Friday, June 9th, from 3 to 7 PM at Norman Dean Home for Services. A Funeral Service will be held the following day, Saturday, June 10th, at 10:30 AM at Norman Dean Home for Services, followed by a procession to Denville Cemetery for the burial service.
