I am so saddened to learn of Michael's passing. I will always remember him for the amazingly beautiful and humble soul he was. I first met Michael at my very first law firm job at Einhorn Harris. Many years later, when my life had some challenges, he employed me and it was great to work with him again. I will never forget how accommodating and supportive he was, esp when I finally landed a FT job. I will miss talking to him from time to time, and even taking him out to lunch again. Michael, you are a special, beautiful soul! May the heavens give you all the peace and paradise you deserve! I will miss you. My sincerest condolences to his loved ones. Rest in God's glory, my friend. Love always, Lizz.

Truly devastated to hear the news. Mike and I were close friends when seniors in high school. So many memories that I can't begin to share in this tribute - my first Grateful Dead concert, the summer Island party fiasco in Lavallette, driving to Washington DC to look at colleges or breaking into Ellen Goodman's house for a little beer drinking while her family was on vacation just to name a few. My condolences to his family. A spirited light that will stay in our hearts.

Dear family and friends,
There are no words to convey how very sorry I am to hear about the loss of my dear, sweet cousin, Michael. We had so much fun in our college days visiting back and forth between Cortland, NY and Michigan. We saw quite a few concerts together and of course had a great time on the Jersey shore at Aunt Ginny and Uncle Harold’s house. I loved you then Michael and love you still. Always have and always will.
With Deepest Sympathies to all the family and friends. Until we meet again, dear cousin! God bless you all.
Love Priscilla (Rowland-Johnson) and Ray Johnson and family

To Michael’s family - I am so very sorry for your loss. When I think of my years at MSU - I think of Michael. He has always held a special place in my heart. I was thrilled when he was able to meet my son at a Dead show in Chicago.

It is sad to say goodbye to not only an MSU college friend but the Best Man in Paul Rosser and my, Ann McKinney's wedding back in June 1981.
Michael was always full of fun and deep thoughts. Everyone loved him. He was a good friend to many.
I am sending hugs to his wife and family. May Peace be with You.

Michael’ biggest quality was his love of family. I knew him as a young boy and saw even then that he was the “heart” of his siblings.
His sense of humor had no equal.

Janis, Elizabeth, and Mikey, my thoughts and prayers are with you as you grieve your great loss. What a special man Mike was! He was my dad's loyal friend, fellow Rotarian, and valued attorney. When Dad and Mom passed away, Mike was there for me, not only with his legal expertise, but also with his kindness and empathy. As we drove to the Morristown Courthouse twice for probate legalities, he entertained me with stories of his childhood and education. He was a wonderful storyteller, and he was devoted to his family. Be assured that he's watching over all of you from Heaven, and he's smiling with pride and everlasting love.

I have many memories with Michael..and I was happy to have shared them with him. So happy Facebook gave us the opportunity to reconnect .. in which he spoke of his pride in his children. He will always hold a special place in my heart. God bless you Michael and I hope you are rocking out with Jerry and Tolkien.

So many wonderful memories. Softball on Cypress Street. Sleighriding on Cypress Court and playing "Get the el Presidente" (when we didn't know about the redundancy). The Fun House in our basement. Reading comic books in Bob's room. Camping out in the backyard on summer nights. Skiing on New Year's day up near Lake Placid. RIP to one of my oldest friends.

It saddens me of the loss of one of my first cousins. One of my fondest memories was when we were young and celebrating a birthday at their house in NJ and there was a dance contest Michael and Ray were the judges. Not exactly Dancing with the Stars ⭐️ but we had a blast. I hope your dancing with your mom now and hugs to all our family members in heaven.

My mind explodes with memories of Michael from back in the day when he was attending law school in Camden and I was fortunate enough to share housing with his wonderful sister, Barbara while attending Glassboro State College. Michael was a welcome guest at our Academy Street home. He brought so much laughter, good conversation and great dancing company to us. He is center stage in my quilt of life as an influencer in how to live and appreciate joy. Cheers to you Michael, May your spirit and memory bring solace to those whose hearts are heavy with loss.

What can I say about my oldest friend from the 1st day I moved to New Milford. I met Michael along with his Brothers and sisters back in 1962. We had great childhood days playing baseball and Army. We all new he would be a Lawyer some day because of his fabulous story telling and being able to make us believe what ever he said. He was super smart in school, not needing to study for tests like the rest of us. I always new I could count on his Legal advise when purchasing a house or selling one. I will never forget picking him and Joe Fornarotto up from there last day at Michigan State U. Mike loaded about 1000 lbs of books into my Van. Then he met Janis, and both of them , along with my wife and I hung out a lot when he lived close in Emerson. He then moved to Denville, and started a family. He was very proud of both his kids and their achievements. After his 1st stroke, he still got to many Grateful Dead tribute concerts , Thanks to Jimmy M. I will miss him . RIP my oldest friend. Great memories !

I have known Michael since our days together in HS. He used to sit behind me in class and whisper the test answers to me- it might be the only way I passed math!:), we were in a play together and had many laughs over that. He used to come to my house after school, where we’d talk about the future and our dreams of what life would be like.
After graduation he threw a MEMORABLE party on an island down the shore, that so many of us from HS could tell stories about!
As we went to college we lost close touch, but somehow we were able to keep each other apprised of our changing lives.
Michael was smart, funny and after he met Janice, totally dedicated to his family and events with them. He told me so many stories of their ski weekends and how much fun the family had.
We both loved the Grateful Dead, and would compare concert notes, music was so important to him.
After his stroke I visited him in NJ and he told me hilarious stories of his childhood adventures with his siblings. He had an amazing memory and was a truly gifted storyteller.
He loved his children and was always proud of their accomplishments. We always had special time dedicated to updates on the kids.
Michael’s initial stroke limited his ability to do all the things he wanted, but his good nature and cheerful presence was not erased.
Michael was special to me, as he was to so many. I will miss him.
