Obituary of Frank A. Lowry
Frank A. Lowry of Denville NJ passed away May 11th, 2023. Frank is survived by his loving wife Frances, daughter Kathleen, son Albert, along with his loving family, son-in-law Sal, daughter in-law Mary Jo, 3 grandchildren - Christopher, Isabella, Jacqueline - his niece Susan, and many family members.
Frank was born and raised in Wharton NJ and upon his 21st Birthday was enlisted by the Army (5RCT) to serve in the Korean War as a Sergeant in the front lines where he was awarded the Ambassador for Peace Medal from the country of Korea; Distinguished Service Award from State of New Jersey; and Korean War Commemorative Medal for Distinguished Military Service.
Upon returning from the war, Frank worked at Picatinny Arsenal as an Engineering Technician where he met Frances, his devoted wife of 68 years. Frank loved his family and being outdoors hunting and fishing with his many friends. He loved to travel with his wife and friends, along with his fellow 5RCT for reunions, to places like Hawaii, Alaska, Seattle, Ireland, England, or taking a cruise along the Atlantic.
Frank was a member of the Acadia Mason Lodge, Denville Methodist Church, served within the Indian Lake community, Picatinny Saltwater and Hunting Club and was Commander and Quartermaster of the Denville-Rockaway VFW 2519.
Public Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 17th from 3 - 7 pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville. Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, May 18th at 11:00 am at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery in Dover. Memorial Donations are being accepted in Frank's memory to either Denville VFW Post #2519 or to the Wounded Warrior Project by way of www.inmemof.org to ensure receipt of your donation.
