Obituary of Louis Robert Patterson

Louis Robert Patterson passed away at his home in the Lake Telemark section of Rockaway Township, NJ with his family be his side on Easter Sunday April 9, 2023, at the age of 61.

Born in Montclair, Lou was a lifelong resident of Rockaway, NJ.  He worked as a supervisor for First Energy in Boonton, NJ for 36 years.

Lou was both a Harley guy and a car guy.  He loved his Harley Davison Motorcycles, his previous “Fat Boy” and his most recent “Ultra Classic Limited”.  He also loved is 1971 Chevy Chevelle, which he would take to cars shows as his annual family father’s day tradition.  Father’s Day was also a day for his annual wood working projects with his daughter Erica. Lou also loved surf fishing as well as lake fishing, and boating on Lake Wallenpaupack in Pennsylvania on family vacations.  Above all else, Lou loved to spend time with his family and friends.

He was predeceased by his cherished daughter Donna Jean Patterson in January of 2020.  He was also predeceased by his parents Louis and Margaret (Bowman) Patterson.

Lou is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Tracey (Morris) Patterson of Rockaway Twp., NJ, as well as his children Erica and her husband Thomas Walsh of Succasunna, NJ, and Jennifer and her husband Randy Hamilton of Oak Ridge, NJ.  He is also survived by his sister Doreen and her husband Rick Gorab of Andover, NJ, as well as his sister-in-law Valerie Morris of Rockaway, NJ and many nieces, nephews, and countless friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday April 17, 2023, from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Avenue Denville, NJ 07834 www.normandean.com.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10:00AM at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church 508 Green Pond Road Rockaway, NJ 07866.
