Obituary of James John Pshick
James “Jim” John Pshick passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Ocean Medical Center in Brick Township, NJ. He had shared 85 years of unconditional love, hard work, unforgettable memories with family and friends.
Jim was born and raised in Canonsburg, PA to the late Frank and Josephine Pshick. In eighth grade, he and his family relocated to Pomona, CA; he graduated from Pomona Catholic High School, class of 1956. Jim earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, CA. He made a successful career for himself working with M & M Mars in Hackettstown, NJ. Jim lived his life his way and some of Jim’s favorite pastimes were umpiring and coaching baseball, cooking, reading many newspapers, being an avid New York Jets fan, talking politics, and attending a plethora of music concerts.
Jim’s happy place was on the beach.
Although we are deeply saddened by his passing, we take comfort in knowing he is now reunited with his beloved wife, Claire, and his parents. He is survived by his loving children, Marijo (Peter) McGregor, David (MaryLou) Pshick, Susan (Bruce) Tyson, and Douglas Pshick; his grandchildren, Melissa (Roger) Capretta, Peter (Julia) McGregor, Caitlin McGregor, Stacy (Connor) Corson, Sarah (Tyler) Twiford, Danielle, James, and Ryan Pshick; and his great-grandchildren, Alexa, Jackson, Emmaline, Peter, Noah, and Graham. He is also survived by his step-daughter, Michele Cameron, and his step-grandchildren, Katie, Matthew, Taylor, and Jackson.
Jim will be laid to rest, privately with Claire, at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Dover. Please leave a condolence, light a candle, and share your favorite memory of Jim here to continue to celebrate his incredible life.
