Obituary of Donna Mae Stalker
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Donna Stalker who passed away on March 6th in her retirement home after a day spent seeing her loved ones.
On December 31st, 1932, Donna was born to Leonard and Agnes Krom in Rochester Minnesota. She was raised there alongside her brother, Errol. Once Donna graduated, she chose to continue her education, but not in the traditional way. She continued her musical education and has been performing since a young child. Donna met her husband, Robert, while he was serving in the military and the pair decided to make the move to Bergen County, New Jersey to begin their family. Donna continued to use her talent by performing in venues like country clubs, high-end restaurants, and most importantly, Allendale nursing home, where she lifted spirits with music for 26 years. Her elegance and class made her a sight to behold. Throughout her career Donna had the chance to work with and even become fast friends with people like Arnold Palmer and Les Paul. The relationships she made along the way were so very dear to her and anyone who had the opportunity to meet her were truly blessed.
And though her passing is one that will be felt by so many, we take comfort in knowing that she is reunited in paradise with the loved ones who have predeceased her; her husband, Robert, her parents, Leonard and Agnes, and her brother, Errol. The people that she has left behind now have the honor of carrying on her memory in their thoughts and actions. Her survivors include her children, Sharon Saparito (Vincent), Wayne Stalker, Randall Stalker (Brenda), her grandchildren, Christopher Stalker, Mathew Saparito (Emily), Lisa Morano (Michael), her great grandchildren, Aria, Mia, Vienna, Dean, Leonardo, Francis, Jesse, and her long time, beloved partner, Tom Colombrito. If you would like to continue her memory yourself, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Diabetes Association via inmemof.org.
Hours of public visitation for Donna are scheduled for Friday, March 17th from 3 to 7 PM at Norman Dean Home for Services, Denville, NJ. A Vigil service will be held during the visitation from 6:30 to 7 PM, officiated by clergy from St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church. Burial will be Saturday, March 18th at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ at 11am.
