Obituary of Taylan Alanson
We are sorry to inform you of the passing of Taylan Alanson, PhD. (born Alankuş).
(b.12 July 1945 - d.15 January 2023)
Taylan was a native of Türkiye and graduated from Stony Brook University, NY, where he was an assistant professor for the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He also worked for the AIP-American Institute of Physics and the US Department of Defense.
Taylan enjoyed teaching, flying gliders and was a lover of the Arts, classical music and fine wines. An avid fan of the Scottish singer Susan Boyle, he loved sharing her music with friends and anyone who would listen.
He is survived by his sister Güven Oya Altan and his brother Kamil Altan Alankuş.
Taylan was loved and appreciated by his family and friends and will be missed for his kindness, generosity, wisdom and gentle spirit.
We will always remember his smile and endearing laugh.
Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, January 26th at 10:30 am at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, 190 Quaker Church Rd, Randolph, NJ 07869.
