Obituary of Catherine Simone
Catherine Simone (Raffa) passed away at her home in Denville, NJ surrounded by her family on December 6, 2022, at the age of 85.
Born and raised in Queens, NY, she moved to Denville, NJ in 1970. At the age of 18 she went to work for Western Electric in Manhattan, NY and she later worked as a school bus driver for the Denville Board of Education for 27 years.
Catherine loved her fish tanks full of beautifully colored tropical fish, she also loved dogs and was quite the green thumb when it came to gardening. Another special talent she had was cooking, everyone always looked forward to her specialty lasagna. Above everything else Catherine loved to spend time with her grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her daughter in law Penny Simone.
Catherine is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, John Simone of Denville, NJ. She is also survived by her loving children Michele and her husband Howard Rudich of Hillsborough, NJ, and John Simone Jr. of Andover, NJ. Her cherished grandchildren Simone and David, Jason and Lauren, John II, and Madeline also survive her.
Visitation will be held on Monday December 12, 2022, from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834 www.normandean.com. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00AM on Tuesday December 13, at St. Mary’s Church 15 Myers Avenue Denville, NJ 07834. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum in East Hanover, NJ.
