Obituary of Jean Audrey Lobb

Please share a memory of Jean to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jean Audrey Lobb, who peacefully passed away on November 25, 2022. She was deeply loved by her family and friends, and we ask that you take this time to remember her fondly.

Jean Kiefer was born to John and Charlotte Kiefer in Jersey City on March 3, 1927. She graduated from Lyndhurst High School and attended Farleigh Dickenson College for a short time. She then met the love of her life, Clyde Lobb, a WWII Marine Veteran, and by the age of 21 the pair had married. The couple were a perfect match, and went on to raise 4 wonderful children together.

Clyde eventually opened Clyde’s Cleaners in Denville, and it quickly became a success. While Clyde ran the business, Jean helped from home and raised the children. In her free time, Jean enjoyed the simple things in life. You could often find her playing a round of dominos with friends, doing a puzzle, or bowling. She always made time to connect with the people she cared about over a fun game.

At the First Presbyterian Church, Boonton, Jean was a Sunday School teacher, an Elder,  and a member of the singing group, the Presbyaires. They would go to nursing homes and hospitals to sing and cheer up the residents. Jean was also a Cub Scout Mom and Girl Scout Leader for brownies, juniors and cadets.

Her family will always remember all the fun memories made at their vacation home in Long Beach Island. Jean was a tremendous baker and the desserts she could whip up were a thing of wonder, and were never left uneaten.

While the death of such a beautiful soul brings us great sadness, we are happy in knowing that she is reunited in Heaven with her husband, Clyde, and her two sisters, Dorothy Kiefer and Ruth Emmons.

She leaves behind her four children, Glenn Lobb (Bonnie), John Lobb (Mary Ellen), Gayle Lobb-Cargilo (Jim), Cathy DeLaro(Vito), her grandchildren, Michelle, Kevin, Kiefer, Katie, Latty, Jennifer, Michael, Briell, Kyra and Carina, and a wealth of great grandchildren, friends, and neighbors.

A memorial visitation for Jean Lobb is scheduled for Monday December 5, 2022 from 3 to 7 PM at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Ave, Denville, New Jersey.

During the visitation, a prayer service will be held at 6:30 PM by Reverend Jen from Boonton Presbyterian Church. All are welcome to come pay respects and celebrate her life.
