Thinking back on my memories of my Uncle Richard, he always seemed to be very easy-going, and had an upbeat, positive way about him. I enjoyed his wonderful sense of humor and quick wit. He could tell a story in a unique, entertaining way. My father had the same trait, and so I think of it as a Dillon trait. I will very much miss that. One of my favorite memories of Richard is of him dancing at his daughters wedding, and I was very impressed at how well he danced. When I told him so, he laughed and said he had no idea what he was doing, was just throwing his arms and legs around! Even though it had been quite a few years since I had gotten back to NY for a visit, he was in my thoughts, and I will miss him tremendously.

Rich was one of the finest persons I had the privilege to know. A man of strong family values, Rich was Kind, sincere always generous with his time and always ready to go out of his way for someone in need. Always keeping a low profile, he was sharp as a tack, and a wealth of knowledge. Our friendship began at the CIYC sometime in the late 70's, and remained so to the very end.He was very instrumental in keeping the yacht Club infrastructure intact for many years. He taught me soo much, boating wise, and was a dear true friend in many ways. I spoke to him two days before he passed, and tried to keep our conversation short, but Sharp and feisty to the end,he insisted we talk on.
i will surely miss him.
Rest in peace my dear friend.....Charlie Palumbo

Matt and I loved your dad and spending so much time with both of your folks during our boating days together. We will miss his jokes and stories and amazing sense of humor. We know how much you all adored and loved him. He was a wonderful father and grandfather. Total family man. So very sorry. Love, Jen and Matt

Rich, Theresa and Dillon Family,
Please accept my sincere condolences. Your dad sounds like he led an amazing life; 90 years isn't long enough but it sounds like he made the most of each and every day.
Sincerely, Gretchen

Mr. Dillon,
It was truly an honor to know you. You had a sense of humor like no other and you always found a reason to smile and laugh. We shared so many stories and I will treasure forever. The love you had for your family was undoubtedly the best stories. I know you will have the best seat in the house at my wedding, tell my daddy hello. May your family find peace and sending prayers during this difficult time. Until we meet again my friend.
Your nurse,
Helen Primavera, RN
