David N. Perkins, PhD, 77, died on Wed. Jan. 16, 2013 at Morris Hills Care Center in Morristown, NJ. He was born in Landis Twp., NJ and lived in Goshen, NY before moving to the Morristown and Randolph, area in 1987. David had served in the US Army during the Korean War. He had graduated from Kings College in Briarcliff Manor, NY with a Bachelors Degree in psychology, later he received a Masters in Clinical School Psychology from City College in New York City, and finally achieving his PhD in Educational Psychology from the University of Sarasota in Sarasota, Fl. Dr. Perkins has been a Professor of Psychology at The College of Saint Elizabeth in Convent Station since 1987. He has been a member of the American Psychological Assoc., the American Counseling Assoc and the American Mental Health Counseling Assoc. He is survived by his sons David Perkins Jr. of Valhalla, NY, and Douglas Perkins of Thornwood, NY, his two grandchildren Leah and Dean Perkins, as well as two stepchildren Nicholas Paski and Katherine Gemme, his brother James of Idaho and all of his family at The College of Saint Elizabeth. A Memorial Service will be held on Sat. Jan. 19, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the Xavier Center at The College of Saint Elizabeth, 2 Convent Rd., Convent Station, NJ 07960.
