Obituary of Harold William Stark
Harold William “Bill” Stark passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, August 13, 2022 while in the comfort of amazing care by the Inpatient Hospice Palliative Care Unit at Morristown Memorial Hospital. He blessed us with 101 years of priceless wisdom, unforgettable memories, and unconditional love.
Born in Morristown to the late Ambrose and Evelyn Stark, he was a lifelong area resident. He graduated from Morristown High School, Class of 1941. Bill proudly served our country in the United States Navy during World War II. Upon his Honorable Discharge he made a successful career for himself at NJ Bell Telephone Company in Morristown as a Technician; he retired in 1982 after 38 years of service. He loved exploring the United States at B&B’s with his wife, Mary, after retirement. He was an active member of the Morris Plains VFW #3401 and Church of the Saviour in Denville. Bill was an avid bowler. At a young age, he worked as a pin boy at a local bowling alley and that stayed a passion throughout his life. He also enjoyed birdwatching, collecting stamps and coins, eating anything chocolate or homemade by Mary, and spending time with family. Although we are saddened by his passing, we take comfort in knowing he is now reunited with his parents, six siblings, his late wife, Marilyn Veronica, and step-daughter, Robin.
He leaves only joyful memories to beloved wife of 40 years, Mary; his loving daughters, Robin and Karin Stark; his caring step-children, Deborah (Jeff) Davis; his cherished grandchildren, Marilyn Veronica (Tommy) Madigan, Amanda (Jeffrey) Zalis, Sarah Medore, Timothy Dostal, Micah Medore, and Samantha Hink; his treasured great-grandchildren, Jeffrey, Donovan, and Leah; his brother, Richard Stark; and many dear nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Public Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 21st from 2 – 5 pm with Funeral Service beginning at 4:30 pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville. Burial will be held on Monday, August 22nd at 11 am at Evergreen Cemetery, 65 Martin Luther King Ave, Morristown, NJ 07960.
