Death doesn’t wait for the weekends.
Or the rainy days.
It comes in the warm weekdays of summer.
And it burns past your skin and into the pit of your stomach.
It makes home there.
There is never enough time in the world.
You were picking raspberries in the yard just last week.
Working on your new car just some time ago.
A healthy freedom felt so feasible for you this time.
You were right in front of me, day in and day out.
Just the wall of a house can create such a boundary.
I wish I could have reached out to you.
To have known what you were feeling when you came home that night.
I wish I could have seen past the walls.
To have seen you.
I long to feel the warmth of your hugs.
Or even the warmth of the words “I love you.”
Just one more time.
Never so quickly have you felt so far away.
I grew used to the distance, the disconnect.
And I ache for an isolation that ever existed.
Pushing past the fog in my mind.
I long to see the dad I once knew.
The dad you could have been.
A man who was always missed long before he was gone.
These walls will be hallow without your laughter.
The lights in your room have faded with you.
And the door will no longer keep you trapped in a cage.
For you are a bird who is finally free.
I will love you forever.

So very sad to hear about Tommy’s passing. Much love, hugs and prayers Aunt JoAnn, Uncle Tom & Holly. There are no words that can take away all the pain you’re going through. I will always remember how creative he was. Even the time he turned a stand in shower stall into a beautiful habitat for his reptiles. Rest In Peace Cousin

I remember 8 bowls of ice cream! You went into the kitchen to get a bowl of ice cream and asked if anyone else wanted some. 7 other people said yes as you dished it out! You leave an empty spot in our world and hearts but fulfill a light in heaven. Be at peace and we’ll all see you again one day. Prayers of comfort for my sister JoAnn, Tom and Holly.

My favorite memory of my cousin Tommy and I was when I was pretty young. I think I was 10? Maybe 11. The Rosevear clan was celebrating Thanksgiving (or Christmas) at Uncle Tom’s house. And I remember Tommy taking me for a ride on his dirt bike through the woods. Oh my gosh it was so much fun!! I thought I was the coolest person in the world.
I am deeply saddened to hear about Tommy. My heart goes out to Uncle Tom, Aunt JoAnn, and Holly during this extremely difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you process and grieve the loss of this wonderful man.
Love you all so very very much!!!

My only hope is that you've found the peace you've been searching for

Tommy was a gentle soul who loved his scary movies, video games and ice cream. He loved his daughter Holly and family to the moon and beyond. I remember when your mom Joann and sister Barbara were painting and you and your cousin Charlie stepped in the paint and held your feet up for all to see with the biggest smiles on your faces. You might have been around 3 years old. I would run into you around town at different places and when you saw me you would say hey Aunt Betty watcha you up to and give me the biggest hugest hugs. I will miss those Tommy. May you rest in peace and may the lord shine his perpetual light on you forever. If you run into Grandma (my mom) and your Uncle (my brother Leroy) tell them I said hi and I love them and miss them.
Until we meet again, be at peace my nephew. We all love you and miss you.
Love Aunt Betty and Pedro

My memory of Tommy that always makes me smile - Tommy had come to our home in PA when he and Charlie were in I think it was around 8th grade to spend a few days. The two of them were down in Charlie room and horsing around when I heard a loud bang on the wall. I went to see what had happened and the look on Tommy's face was priceless. The two of them were doing hand stands and Tommy landed up against the wall leaving a big butt dent in the wall. Still makes me smile today when I think about it.

Tommy was a great family member who will be missed greatly. It was a joy watching him grow up to become the person he was meant to be, We will miss his sharing of his creative, artistic, and mechanical skills. I will miss the enthusiasm he had when talking about his interests and joys in life, His love for his friends and family was great. His family always came first. The total love he had for his parents and the daughter that meant the world to him has left a whole in all our hearts.
