Obituary of Sally Hurley Clancy
SALLY ANN HURLEY CLANCY
March 14, 1935 – May 25, 2022
Sally Ann (Hurley) Clancy, 87, passed away peacefully with Family Members at her side on Wednesday, May 25, 2022.
Born in Boston, MA, on March 14, 1935 she was raised in the Bay Ridge Section of Brooklyn, NY. She married Ray Clancy and was blessed with six beautiful children settling in Staten Island, NY. Sally was an active long-time parishioner of St. Sylvester’s Roman Catholic Church of Staten Island.
Sally achieved a Bachaler’s Degree (Maga Cum Lade) from the College of Staten Island and a Master’s Degree (Suma Cum Lade) from Adelphi University.
Throughout life she was extremely proud of celebrating her Irish Heritage and visited Ireland several times with Family Members.
While residing in Denville she enthusiastically managed Peer’s General Store on Diamond Spring Road.
Predeceased by her parents, John and Sarah Hurley, her Husband Ray and her son, Shawn.
She is survived by her children: Patrick Clancy and his wife Susan, Brian Clancy, Kelly Ann Calabro, Colleen Mary Bompartito and her husband Joseph and Brendan Clancy and his wife Jennifer. Her siblings include Kathy Smith and her husband Jack, Sr. Mary Pat Hurley (CSJ), Helen Hehir and her husband Joe, John Hurley, Jr. and his wife Venetta. She also is survived by seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many nieces, nephew’s and cousins.
In Lieu of Flowers donations are gratefully accepted by The Sisters of Saint Joseph, 1725 Brentwood Road, Brentwood, NY 11717.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 10 N. Pocono Road, Mountain Lakes, NJ on Friday, June 24, 2022 at 10AM.
