Obituary of Rhonda Lee Krupna

Rhonda Lee Krupna passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at St. Clare’s Hospital in Denville. She had shared 63 years of unconditional love, infectious laughter, and unforgettable memories with family and friends.

Born and raised in Denville to the late John and Ellen Munro, Rhonda was one of eight children to bless the Munro household. After graduating Morris Knolls High School, Class of 1976, she went on to attend Morris County Vo-Tech for Nursing. Rhonda made a successful career for herself doing what she does best, helping others. She was a hard working, dedicated employee over the 30+ years where she spent her time taking care of others. She married the love of her life and best friend, Walter Krupna Jr., on September 30, 1978. Together they traveled on this rollercoaster we call life, hand in hand. They began their journey in Boonton and moved around Morris County a bit before settling down in Sparta, Lake Mohawk to start a family of their own.

Rhonda was truly one of a kind; she was thoughtful, kind, and generous. She would give to others, not with an expectation of something in return, but because she wanted to brighten up your day. A natural caregiver, she religiously put others before herself. Her home was always warm, inviting, properly decorated for every occasion and everyone was always welcome. Her favorite type of decorations were her beloved twinkle lights, in every color and design that you could imagine. Although she adored all living things, her family was her pride and joy. She didn’t miss one thing when it came to her daughter and adored grandchildren, including the bragging rights they gave her. Her grandchildren brought a new meaning to her life, and she was beyond proud to call herself a Grandma. She was their caregiver when they were infants and her sensitivity, kindness and gentle touch shine through her grandchildren each and every day. What she loved more than anything was going out shopping in search of items they needed for school or had asked her for; there was nothing she wouldn’t do for them, or her family.

Rhonda loved spending quality time, making memories. She was a master in the arts and crafts department, creating beautiful artwork pieces, ceramics, snow globes, paintings - you name it, she made it! Her favorite crafting time was spent with her grandchildren, making keepsake decorations for every holiday. To spread joy to others, Rhonda always gave out little thoughtful presents and her favorite place to purchase these items was in Lancaster, PA. Her and her husband Walter would visit there a few times a year and she would always come home with new treasures to share. She was our entire world, our Matriarch, our confidant, our nurse, our best friend. If you were blessed enough to have had Rhonda in your life, I bet you have a souvenir to remind you of her. Although we are heart broken by her sudden passing, we take comfort in knowing we have the greatest Guardian Angel watching out for us from above. We also take solace in the fact that she is now reunited with her parents, and sisters, Ellen and Jackie.

She leaves only joyful memories to her beloved husband of 44 years, Walter; her cherished daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Brent Gaylord; her treasured grandsons, Brady and Tobey Gaylord; her loving siblings, Joanne (John) Flood, Laurie (Larry) Borshard, Diane (Bill) Carroll, Robert (Mary) Munro, and John (Nancy) Munro, Jr.; her caring sister-in-law, Debi (Steve) Mielach; her devoted cousin, Carol Munro; her adoring grandpup, Shelby; her dear nieces and nephews, Megan, Sean, Connor, John, Mary, Caitlin, Brian, Matthew, Casey, Virginia, Maggie, Scott, Corey, Allison, Courtney, Andrew, and Stephanie; and many extended family and friends.

Public Visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 13^th from 3 – 7 pm with Funeral Service beginning at 6:30 at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville. Memorial Donations are being accepted in her memory by way of www.inmemof.org to ensure receipt of your donation to either the American Heart Association or Feed the Children.
