Obituary of Charles T. Dietrich
Charles Dietrich passed peacefully at home on February 3, 2022. He shared 81 years of love and faith with his family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 10th, 2022 at 10 am at Sacred Heart Parish, 4 Richards Ave, Dover. Interment to follow at Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends and relatives may visit on Wednesday, February 9th from 4-7pm at the Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville. Donations in his memory may be made to the good work of the American Cancer Society.
Charles was born in Wilkes Barre Pennsylvania and raised in the Richard Mine section of Rockaway. He was one of two children to bless the Dietrich Family. After his schooling he served our country with the US Navy and upon his honorable discharge he returned home where he met Diana Reed. They married and settled in Rockaway Township. They had three children and Charlie worked hard to provide a good life. He retired from the Rockaway Township Road Department after over 34 years of dedicated service as a Road supervisor.
In his spare time, Charlie loved buying old cars and restoring them. He was always in the garage tinkering with one of his cars. He loved Nascar and was fortunate to journey to Talladega with his sons a few years back.
He was a faithful parishioner of Sacred Heart in Dover. Above everything, Charlie loved his family. He was a loving husband, proud Dad and the proudest Pop Pop to his six grandchildren. He never missed a sporting event or a birthday. Being surrounded by the kids was his favorite place to be. Although we are saddened by his passing, we take comfort in knowing he is finally at peace in heaven with loved ones and is watching over his family with love.
He leaves his wife Diana of 56 years; his children Matthew (Suzanne), Michael (Sharon) and Marissa (Christopher Palmieri); his adored grandchildren Michael and Kristyn Dietrich, Ben and Russell Heath and Erin and Jacob Dietrich; and many more dear relatives and friends.
