Obituary of Mary Rose Vitolo
Mary Rose Vitolo passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. She shared 92 years of faith, love and incredible memories with family and friends.
Born and raised in the Bronx, NY to the late Salvatore and Jennie Miluzzo, she was one of six children to bless the family. As a young woman she met Michael Vitolo and the rest was history. They fell in love at the young age of 16 and married as soon as Mary turned 19. They eventually settled in Rockland County NY to raise a family of their own. Mary loved being a Mom. She did everything possible to give her children a beautiful life and a loving home.
As the kids grew, Mary began working for Bank of NY. She enjoyed working and the friendships she made along the way. She was a shining light in so many lives; always greeting everyone she met with a smile and a kind word. As the years went on she was blessed with the title of “Grandma”. Mary Rose adored her grandchildren and couldn’t get enough of them. After Michael passed in 2015, she moved to Denville to be closer to her family. She has been blessed to be spoiled by her granddaughters and their friends always. She was the “Gram” that everyone should have.
Mary loved reading, she especially loved her Danielle Steel books, the NY Post and her People magazine, she loved sitting by the pool when the weather was warm, she enjoyed getting her hair and nails done and she was avid fan of the NY Yankees.
Although we are deeply saddened by her passing, we are comforted in knowing that she is now reunited with her beloved husband, Michael and is watching over her family with love.
She leaves joyful memories to her children, Lucille Dacaney (Ray), Michael Vitolo (Roe) and Bari Vitolo(Jodi); her adored grandchildren Jesse Shapiro, Emma McaLaurin (Ben) and Gia Vitolo and Gianna (Salvatore Montuori), Giulia, and Giaci Vitolo; and many more dear friends and relatives.
Donations in her memory may be made to the good work of The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis and The Buoniconti Fund.
