Obituary of Winifred E. Pierce

Please share a memory of Winifred to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Winifred Elizabeth Pierce passed peacefully on January 7, 2022.  She shared 102 years of love and faith with her family and friends.  A Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 11 am at St. Catherine of Siena Parish, 10 North Pocono Rd., Mountain Lakes, NJ.  Interment of ashes to follow at the Denville Cemetery.   Donations in her name may be made to the good work of St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.

Born in 1919 to the late Michael and MaryJane Brennan, Winifred was one of two children to bless the family.  After her schooling and a whirlwind romance, she married David W. Pierce Jr in 1942.  In 1954 they settled in Denville to raise their young family.  Winnie loved this community.  She stayed active with St. Mary’s Church and kept busy with all the kids activities.  She was a doting wife and an adoring Mother.  Her family was everything to her.  After David’s retirement, they headed south to Charlotte where they spent over 20 years.  They enjoyed their new friendships and Winnie kept busy with the Catholic Daughters of America.

As blessed as she was, she had some heartaches.  Her daughter Cynthia Lattig passed in 1987 and this of course was devastating.  We take comfort in knowing Winifred is embracing her daughter Cynthia, her husband David (2015) and her adored grandson David Pierce Feith (2019) today.

She leaves beautiful memories to her son David of Greenville, S.C. and her daughter Carol Pierce-Feith of Wharton, her grandchildren Stephen and Beth Feith of Johnsonville, N.Y. and Deidre and James Jensen of Boonton, as well as her adored great grandchildren, Laurel and Ryan Feith and Ryleigh and Jamie Jensen; her son-in-law Bob Lattig; her cousin Winifred Kelly and many dear friends, family and caretakers.
