Janet S. Proudley

October 12, 1930 - December 28, 2021

Janet S. Proudley passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home in the Troy Hill Village section of Parsippany. She had shared 91 years of infectious laughter, unconditional love, and incredible memories with family and friends.

Born and raised in Poughkeepsie, NY to the late George and Elsie Stacey, Janet broke the mold when she was brought into this world. She was such a shining light in so many lives; always greeting everyone she met with a smile and kind words. After graduating High School, she went on to Nursing School at Roosevelt Hospital in NYC where she earned her Nursing Degree and became a Registered Nurse. That is also where she met her soulmate and best friend, Ronald “Ron” Proudley. They were married on October 18, 1953 and the rest is history. They found their forever home in Denville, where Ron and Janet raised their children. While in NJ, Janet worked for Riverside Hospital in Boonton for 35 years. She finished her career working for oral surgeon, Dr. Robert Gorzelnik in Denville.

Janet was a social butterfly; she loved to spread her devotion to Jesus Christ with those around her. She was also a member of the Bible Fellowship Church in Denville and later became a member of Jacksonville Chapel in Towaco. Along with her late husband Ron, she was a founding member of Fellowship Chapel in Mt. Olive. Then she became a part of the Fellowship at Calvary Chapel of Morris Hills in Dover. She was also a member of the Stone Croft Ministries for over 40 years, and The Christian Women's Association. She made many lifelong and dear friendships through her activities with Christian Ministries through the years, especially with the Ladies Fellowships in Morris County. Janet always admired when other folks’ talents shined through and she encouraged and praised them for their accomplishments; an unfortunate rarity in the world today. Janet made this world a brighter and better place and all who knew her are more enlightened for having known her. She was selected to be a “Living Treasure” at St. Francis Residential Community in Denville in 2015.

Although we are deeply saddened by her passing, we are comforted in knowing that she is now reunited with her beloved husband, Ron, her parents, and is spending time with our Lord and Saviour.

She leaves only joyful memories to her loving children, Robert Proudley (Shannon) of Henryville, Stacey Osborne (Peter) of Summerfield, NC, and Daniel Proudley of Lancaster, PA; her cherished grandchildren, Carrie Ann Proudley, Kelly Nicole Proudley, Gregory Peter Osborne, Hillary Ann Brantley (Anthony); her adored great-grandchildren, Gage Brantley and Emmy Grace Brantley; and many extended family and dear friends. Also, a special thank you to her amazing caregiver, Clara Inyang, who took extraordinary care of Mom these past years.
