Lina and I were friends for almost 20 years here at Fox Hills. She was so good to my mother and me...she was so good to everyone. I never knew any of my grandparents, but I always wished I had had a grandmother just like Lina. This was a woman who grew up on a farm, helped with the farming, knew nothing but fresh fruits and vegetables and clean air and water. I always told her that that healthy background kept her here with us for so many lovely years. Did I love her cooking? Everyone loved her cooking, and she always made a special dish for me because I was Sicilian! Not good! But she treated me with love and great good humor. I loved her very much and we even went to Vegas together and had a good time there. When we took the bus to Atlantic City, Lina always made us pepper and egg sandwiches--manna of the gods! What a wonderful heart and soul she had...when you were with Lina, you were home. That's how her generous spirit made you feel.
I did not find out about her passing until 8 pm the night before her service. I mourn her just the same.
Rest in peace, my dear friend. I will never, ever forget you, and will love you always.

I'm so very sorry to learn that Lina has passed. She was such a lovely, kind person.
I got to know her over the many years she resided at Fox Hills as a neighbor and close
friend of my Mom, Terry. I know that she as well as many in that community will miss her
terribly. My condolences to your family. May all the happy memories you've shared
comfort you.
Warm regards,
Donna Pepe

Dear Frank, Julie, Andrea & Family,
This is Vivian. Daughter of Delia (Della) & Raffaele Del Mistro.
Our Mom's met and worked together A & P Laundry when we were children.
We came to your parents' home many times.
We loved your mother. Always the truest of friendships shared with our parents.
Mom and Mirella would host my Mom, Sister Anita and Me - we would come to Rockaway and spend a wonderful Sunday several years in during the month of November.
Lina always stayed in touch, cared and was the closest of friends with both our parents.
I loved every conversation we shared - we stayed in touch with one another.
Truly a very special person and very strong woman.
Lina is forever in my heart.
Many Thoughts & Prayers ,
Vivian (Del Mistro) Bender
