So sorry to hear of Mrs. Bednar’s passing. We had the most awesome neighborhood growing up, and I have very fond memories of Mr and Mrs Bednar….

My special memory of Mrs. Bednar was when I was 7 or 8 years old and had to have my tonsils out. In those days that meant ether anesthesia and a one night hospital stay. We lived across the street and since Mrs. B was a nurse, my parents asked her to be my bedside sitter nurse. That night I was pretty sore, tired and a bit scared since the ether experience was not explained before hand and actually felt like the doctors were trying to suffocate me. I remember waking up several times that night and each time there was Mrs. Bednar in a beautiful white nurses uniform with white nurses hat asking me if I needed anything and getting me some water. I can still see her sitting there in the room quietly reading and I remember the kindness and caring that she gave and the feeling of comfort and safety I had knowing she was there. She was a good person and I am happy to have known her in my life.
