Obituary of William J. Fox
William “Billy” J. Fox passed away at his home in Denville, NJ on September 8, 2021, at the age of 69.
Born in Canajoharie, NY, he had lived in Austin & Houston, TX, and Morristown and Denville, NJ. He graduated from Morris Knolls High School, Class of 1969. Billy also attended both Dartmouth College in NH and Montclair State University in NJ.
He worked in sales for Bell Telephone for many years before retiring in 2011.
Billy was an avid reader and loved his science fiction movies and listening to good rock and roll music. He relished his time spent with friends, going to concerts and live shows, always with a cold beer in his hands and a smile on his face. Billy loved to laugh and it was so contagious!
He was predeceased by his parents Robert and Carolyn (Spain) Fox.
William is survived by his loving siblings Robert Fox of Lake Hopatcong, NJ, Christine Beckwith of Georgetown, TX, and Druann Fox of Luling, TX. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Robert Beckwith of Pottsboro, TX, Amy Liisa (James) Janik of Georgetown, TX, Robert (Ashley) A. Fox II of Lake Hopatcong, NJ, and Sean W. Fox of Morris Plains, NJ; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Savannah Fox, Robert Fox III, Brandon Beckwith, and Logan & Dawson Janik.
A private service for William was held under the direction of Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville, NJ 07834. A “Billy Feast” will be held next summer at the Cedar Lake Clubhouse; more information will be posted on Billy’s Facebook page at a later date.
