Obituary of Charles Henry Poskitt, Jr.

Please share a memory of Charles to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Charles H. Poskitt Jr. passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 7th following a brief illness.  He shared 89 years of love and faith with his family.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 15th from 3-7 pm at the funeral home.  A Funeral Service will begin at 6 o'clock that evening.  Burial at the Brigadier General Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider donations in to the good work of The Mesothelioma Research Foundation of America, 3011 Townsgate Rd. #450, Westlake Village, CA 91361.

Born in Des Moines, Iowa, Charles was one of two children to bless the family.  They moved to NJ where Charles finished his schooling and proudly enlisted with the US Navy.  After four years of dedicated service, he was honorably discharged and married his sweetheart Alma Reif. They settled in Rockaway where they started their family.

Charles was the proud Father to four sons.  He worked hard to provide a good life for them and Alma.  He retired from Sheetmetal Local #’s 22 & 25 after many years.  He was active with the Moose Lodge #541 Dover and the Elks in Hopatcong.  Charlie loved to travel and he and Alma were fortunate to travel the world together. Above all, he loved being with his family.  His greatest title was that of “Grandpa”.  He will be missed by so many.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Alma, his dear sons Charles III and Glenn and his sister Doris Sullivan; he leaves his sons Edward (Mary Ann) and Gregg; his adored granddaughters Kristie (Shane), Carrie (Justin) and Samantha (Ray); his great grandchildren Dylan, Justin, Kevin, Shelby and Ellie; his seven sweet grand pups and many more loving relatives, neighbors and friends.
