Obituary of Jan E. Gullberg
Jan E. Gullberg passed away peacefully in his sleep at home in Rockaway on Sunday, May 23, 2021. He had shared 75 years of unconditional love, infectious laughter, and amazing memories with family and friends.
Born in the Bronx, NY to the late David and Eileen Gullberg, he was one of seven children to bless their household. Jan was raised in Rockaway Township and graduated from Morris Hills High School, class of 1964, where he was a talented wrestler. He made a successful career as Free-lance contractor, working most recently for Lakeland Construction. As the oldest of all his siblings, Jan was vital in helping to take care of them; he honored and valued the task. Jan was attentive, caring, funny and smart. He loved to sing and was exceptional at it. He also liked to play pool, complete challenging word puzzles, and adored all animals. He was a gentle soul that always put his family first. Although he was taken from us too soon, we take comfort in knowing he is now reunited with his parents, David & Eileen, and siblings, Valerie and David.
He leaves a lifetime of joyful unforgettable memories to his treasured siblings who will miss him terribly, Karen, Beverly, and Gary; his cherished nieces and nephews; and many more extended family and dear friends.
All services will be private. Please leave a condolence, light a candle, and share your favorite memory Jan here to continue to celebrate the incredible life he endowed to us.
