Obituary of Danarae M. Scafati

Please share a memory of Danarae to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Danarae Marie Scafati went home to the Lord on Sunday, March 14, 2021. In her 54 years on this earth she has shared an immense amount of love, kindness, selflessness, and has changed so many lives for the better.

Danarae was born in Passaic, raised in the Lake Hiawatha section of Parsippany and graduated from Clifton High School, Class of 1985. Danarae broke the mold when she was born; to say she was a phenomenal daughter, attentive wife, supportive mother, and loyal friend was an understatement. Danarae met her best friend and soulmate, Scott, at Meadowbrook in Cedar Grove in 1985 and they were married in 1990. They settled into Rockaway Township to begin a family of their own. She was the glue and rock that held her family together. A crafty and creative woman, Danarae not only helped Scott with remodeling their home, but also took on many other home DIY projects. Her guilty pleasures included all things Christmas, Hallmark movies, taking cruises and traveling, trips to the casino, and anything Disney! She had a knack for keeping plants and flowers alive throughout her home, which made it so welcoming. Above anything else, her pride and joy was her family.

Although we are deeply saddened by her passing, we are comforted in knowing we now have the greatest guardian angel watching out for us from above. We will never forget how giving and helpful she was, how kind her soul was, and the feeling that being around her gave us. We are truly grateful for having known such an incredible woman.

She leaves only joyful memories to her beloved husband of 31 years, Scott; her cherished children, Timothy and his fiance Jaci Sanchez, Erika and her fiance Nick Iwanski, and Samantha, and Krystal Costa, whom she raised like a daughter; her doting mother, Juliet (the late Jim “Turk”) Albrecht; her caring brothers, Michael Costa and his partner Sherry Tremper and Richard Costa and his wife Christine and their father, Richard Costa; her caring step-sister, Tracy Golin and her husband Dr. Alex; and many more nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Public Walkthrough Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 21st from 1 - 4 pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville. Funeral Service will take place on Monday, March 22nd at 11 am at Norman Dean Home for Services. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover. Please leave a condolence, light a candle to continue to let her light shine, and share your favorite memory of Danarae here for her family to cherish forever.
