Obituary of Carl Abrahamsen
“When a work lifts your spirits and inspires bold and noble thoughts in you, do not look for any other standard to judge by: the work is good, the product of a master craftsman.”
-Jean de la Bruyere
Carl Abrahamsen died on Wednesday February 17, 2021. He shared 61 years of love and craftsmanship with his family. Friends and relatives may visit on Wednesday, February 24th from 5pm - 7pm. A Funeral service will begin at 6:30 pm.
Please share your memories here. Carl's family will cherish them forever.
Carl was born on November 16, 1959 in Brooklyn, NY, a birthday he would share with his twin brother and their Dad! In 1965 the Abrahamsen family moved to Lake Telemark in Rockaway Township and he has resided there ever since. After his schooling, he was blessed to marry and start a family of his own. Carl was soon the proud Dad of two. He was caring and goofy, making being a Dad easy and natural for him. He was always present and never missed a game, a recital, or any event - big or small. He loved being a Dad and instilled strong values in the kids of family, patience and hard work.
Carl worked as carpenter with Local 254 and always for his family. With the kids grown and buying houses of their own, Carl was enjoying using his skills and teaching them how to make their homes beautiful and functional. Some would say he was as talented as his father and the likes- master carpenters from years back. He loved sharing his hands and his mind. Above all, Carl loved being with his family. He and his brothers were thicker than thieves and spent such wonderful time together. He was the proudest Dad and his greatest title is relatively new. Carl was known as “Pop” to two very special ones; his grandson Colton and baby A on the way. Carl adored these babies and glowed when speaking of them. Above everything he shared with us, his love was the best. He will be missed beyond measure, but we will carry his love and lessons with us forever.
He leaves joyful memories to his children Melissa Csabai (Chase) and Carl Jr. “CJ” (Nicole); his grandson Colton Csabai and baby Abrahamsen “on the way”; his brothers Alex and Alf and many dear friends and relatives. His parents Odd and Solveig and his brother Roy passed previously.
And if you feel that you can't go on
And your will's sinking low
Just believe, and you can't go wrong
In the light, you will find the road
You will find the road
