We are so very sorry for your loss. I had no idea that steve was ill. We worked together at JL Prescott in Passaic NJ. He was always made work fun. He helped me so much with my computer, I was a real novice. He always sent me a birthday card, addressed to “the wench” a name he gave me when I was traveling. I did not receive a card this year, May, and was concerned. I loved his sense of humor and was I awe of how intelligent he was. Peace be with you and your family. Lynn Straulina Frederick Goshen NY

Our deepest condolences to you and your family, Terry. We were saddened and so sorry to hear about Stephen. Although we haven't seen him often in the last 20 yrs, we played together a lot when we were kids, and he was always happy, smiling, had a great sense of humor and coming up with interesting things to do - a truly nice kid that everybody liked. We saw him and your dad at Mr. Fittons' Birthday parties after many years - and he was still the same - joking, laughing, a unique, genuine, truly nice guy. Dan remembers him as a kid setting up a miniature golf course in your driveway for the neighborhood "gang", and I'll always remember us all playing in the "cubby hole" on the side of the house. We will miss Stephen, he and you are in our hearts and prayers. May God Comfort, Bless and Keep you in this horrible, difficult time.

So very sorry to hear of Steve's passing, my sympathy to his family. I have fond memories of Steve from working with him at Opus-Ism. We were both in the office at the crack of dawn and he often shared some whimsical stories with me. I know how much is family meant to him as he spoke of all of you often. Rest in peace Steve, see you on the other side.

Sorry to hear the sad news about Stephen. I played at your home many many times as a St Thomas classmate- from the miniature golf course in the driveway to the pool to the secret clubhouse inside - it was always an adventure at your place. I also remember how kind your mother was to us all with snacks and a smile. - Tim Carroll (Day Street & West Passaic corner)

Dear Terri and Family –
I was deeply saddened to learn of Steve’s illness and passing. I fondly remember backyard family picnics, get-togethers, and New Year’s Eve parties shared with the Mykowski family. When our paths later crossed in our adult years, Steve had a sharp memory for details of people and events from our youth that would inevitably take me back to our childhoods.
Please know that I am holding you in my heart and prayers.

Our family, Don, Chris and I are truly grateful to have known Steve for the past 40 years. As others have already shared, Steve was a unique combination of sharp wit, a wry sense of humor, a playful sense of mischief and a gentle caring spirit. To know Steve, was to love Steve. He was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand in our time of need, and was sure to sprinkle our projects with pithy remarks to remind us not to take ourselves too seriously. It was truly a blessing to have Steve as a friend and the adopted Uncle Steve for our son. Steve had an open, honest, generous and loving soul and we pray he has safe passage to join the family and friends that he loved in heaven. May the Good Lord Bless and Keep you my dear friend, we will miss you.

My deepest condolences to the Mykowski family. Stephen was one of the most intelligent employees I have had. He was very witty and he sure knew how to outsmart us all. He was a pleasure to be able work with and we will all miss him in the Air Sort. May God be with Stephen and his family during this difficult time.

My deepest condolences to Steve’s family upon his sudden passing. He was such a nice guy and I enjoyed working with him for many years. We just had an email conversation last month where we promised to get together for lunch once we were vaccinated and felt safe. May he Rest In Peace and his family find peace holding happy memories of him in their hearts.

I lost one of my dearest friends on Wednesday. Since I am quite a bit it older than Steve I never expected to be mourning him or trying to make sense of his unexpected death. I will miss his kindness and wicked sense of humor, his unfailing interest and enjoyment of my Scottish heritage. He was very smart and I always learned something new from time spent in his company I will miss him enormously. My thoughts and prayers are with Steve’s family. RIP SCAM.

My deep condolences to Terri, Lindsey, their family and Steve's many friends.

Whenever the mail brought a card from Steve I anticipated a hearty laugh! I knew he had searched diligently for a "zinger" and I've looked forward to many more years of being treated like his contemporary rather than a coddled elder. Learning of his illness was a jolt that caused deep sadness in all of us. The obituary describes him perfectly and I thank Terry and all those who helped with it for finding the right words. We will miss just knowing he was "among us" but his spirit will live on in our many recollections of him.
