Marina Elizabeth Leiva passed away at home on Sunday, January 31, 2021.  She shared 24 years of love and creativity with everyone who was blessed to know her.  Private arrangements were held under the direction of the Norman Dean Home For Services, Denville, NJ.  Marina will be laid to rest near her family in Wisconsin.  Those who wish may make a donation in her memory to the good work of the Alliance For Young Artists and Writers by way of www.inmemof.org

Please share your memories here, her family will cherish them forever.

Marina was born April 4, 1996 to her adoring parents Susan and Jonathan Remington.   She was baptized into the Christian faith on May 12, 1996.   As a youngster she enjoyed soccer and basketball and always had a soft spot for penguins.  She had a passion for writing which has been a constant in her life.  She loved writing stories and dreamed of being a published author.  During her high school years, one of her short stories was published in the local newspaper and she wrote her first draft of a 200 page novel before even turning eighteen.  As a teenager, she met Kevin Leiva online and the young couple knew instantly they were meant to be together.  They talked daily and as soon as they were able (the day after high school graduation!), Marina Remington flew to New York to meet her sweetheart.  They were more in love than ever and married on  January 4, 2018.  Kevin brought light to Marina’s life and Marina brought so much love.  Together they adopted two Tegu lizards,  AJ & Blue, traveled around the east coast and shared dreams of owning a farm someday and having children.

Marina loved to cook and was especially proud that she mastered baking an authentic NYC cheesecake.  She enjoyed lifes simple pleasures like reading a paperback book and watching a movie from a dvd.

She was loved by many and this support was truly what got her through tragedy earlier this year.  Kevin, her dedicated and loving husband and hero EMT lost his life to Covid 19.  Marina's life was shattered.  She tried her hardest each day to be without him, and struggled.  Although we are broken-hearted by her passing, we take comfort in knowing these two angels are together again forever.

She leaves beautiful memories to her parents Susan Randazzo (Nick) and Jonathan Remington; her adored brothers Christian Remington (whom she was so proud of) and Anthony Randazzo (whom she adored); her maternal Grandma Dianna Raufmann, her paternal Grandpa George Bralick; her Aunts Anne DeValkenaere, Mary Ladarom and Erica Idzikowski (Max), Mary Mallegni (Jeff), Katherine Bralick; her Uncles Matthew Bralick, Theo Bralick (Andrea); her Great Uncle William Bralick (Cecilia); Great Aunts Ann Karpenko, Alice Forsythe (Gary), Shirley Kleczka, Jane Srnec (Dan); many cousins and friends, including her dear extended family of paramedics and life saving heroes.   Her maternal Grandpa George Raufmann and her paternal Grandma Nancy Bralick passed previously.
