I have known and loved Henry Balbo since the 70s. I first met Henry while he worked at ITT Avionics. At that time the recruitment advertising was locked up with one of my competitors which serviced the entire ITT account. I presented my services to Henry who at the time had a tremendous need to recruit engineers, etc. Henry broke the mold and gave me an opportunity to work for him and Bill Lissy. That took guts to break away from the norm to get the job done. Henry gave me the opportunity that made my career. We worked together for many many years after that. We became friends, Henry introduced me to red wine (instead of white) cigars, but most of all he had to be the most loving family man I ever met, honorable beyond belief, honest straight forward and hardworking. Great sense of humor loved baseball. Henry and I went beyond work. After he retired We met for lunch, talked on the phone, exchange cigars jokes. I can go in forever about this incredible lovely guy. I love him and I’ll miss him greatly. The photo attached was taken in 2017 when my wife and I met Henry for lunch. Lorraine thought so much of Henry she wanted to introduce him to her Mother. I wish she had, I would have loved to have had Henry for my Father -In-Law. My condolences to his beautiful family. I love you Henry. Rest In Peace

I was so sorry to learn of Henry's passing. I worked with him at ITT from 1985 until he retired. He was always waiting to tell a joke, you could see it in his eyes. I was happy to have been at a few lunch gatherings we had after his retirement. My sincere sympathy to his entire family. We lost a good one. RIP

My deepest sympathy to Hank's family. Our entire family loved Hank as part of our family. Hank was the most loving and kind companion to our dear mother, Mary. He was part of so many of our family holidays and holds a special place in my heart. I could have asked for no one better to be by my mother's side in her final years. Hank made so many of my Mom's days brighter with his sense of humor and profound love he showed her.
May your memories of your father comfort you during this difficult time.
With love,
Joanne (Mary Schmid's daughter)

I was so sorry to learn of Henry’s passing. I worked with him in the 60’s at ITT. He was probably the funniest man I ever knew. I was very young when I started there and he made things easy for me. I still remember some of his funny sayings, He said “ if I ever find a one-legged Man- boy do j have socks for him!!! Lol. Then another time he told me that Sue had Sent some of his old clothes to the poor in Italy— they sent them back with $5.00 in the pocket. Lol. Henny Youngman had nothing on him. How he loved Sue and his girls. Rest In Peace old friend. April Norred Cappetta

What a gem of a man. I so enjoyed and miss our conversations when he he visited the store I worked at. We solved the world's problems, reminisced about past glories and the Jersey shore. And then there was baseball and the Yankees!
To his family, my sympathies. How wonderful you had, and always will have, this beautiful man in your lives! Rest In Peace Mr. Balbo!

On behalf of my husband Michael and myself, we would like to extend our condolences to the family of Henry Balbo. He was a great guy, very loving and giving and always great fun.
I knew Henry Balbo all my life. I lived in Jersey City from 1955 to 1972 . I moved from Jersey City with my family to Middletown, NJ where I am now living with my husband of 25 years, Michael Healy. My family and I were tenants of their best friends Bartley and Muriel (Maresca) Coyle. The last time I I saw Sue and Henry was at a 50th wedding anniversary celebration for Bartley and Muriel. Henry looked great and was his usual fun loving self. It was the first time that he met my husband, Michael Healy and at that point he wished us well as we were newlyweds at the time.
My family and I had a wonderful relationship with Henry, Sue and his two daughters Donna and Susan. It was always a fun time with the Balbo family. Henry was always a shining star and a good cook.
He will definitely be missed by all of us.
Rest in peace
