Obituary of Phylis Mary Kowalski
Phylis Mary (Pagnotta) Kowalski passed away at Saint Clare’s Hospital in Denville, NJ on January 25, 2021 at the age of 74.
Born in Trenton, she lived in Clark before moving to Denville, NJ in 1976. She was a graduate of St. Peter’s General Hospital School of Nursing in New Brunswick, class of 1967.
Phylis was a Registered Nurse (RN) and started her career working at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ after graduation. She later worked at Dover General Hospital in Dover, NJ where she retired in the late 1990’s from her nursing career of over 30 years. She enjoyed painting, sewing, stained glass and arts and crafts where she had enjoyed selling her creations at craft shows. She had a love for animals especially her cat Whiskers and stray rescue cats in need of medical attention to restore their health. She was the heart of the family and a devoted caregiver throughout her life. Her good nature, bright positive spirit and laughter will be missed.
Phylis is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, Mitchell P. Kowalski of Denville, NJ and children; daughter Wendy Kowalski, son Stephen Kowalski and grandchildren; granddaughter Jena Tanis, grandsons Logan and Jacob Kowalski as well as her dear sister Conni Hensel of Fishers, IN.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday February 6, 2021, at 10:00AM at St. Mary’s Church 15 Myers Ave Denville, NJ 07834. If you are unable to join us at Mass, you will be able to watch it live by clicking here. Interment will follow at Denville Cemetery under the direction of Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834 www.normandean.com.
